David Warner vs KKR

Twitter Reacts to David Warner’s Comeback Knock of 85 in IPL

Kolkata Knight Riders won their first match of the season and took over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Eden Gardens, but the pocket rocket David Warner was the one who won all the hearts.

David Warner was making a comeback in the IPL after a gap of more than one year, and he didn’t let down his fans at all.

Warner, along with Australian former captain Steve Smith was suspended by Cricket Australia because of the ball tampering issues and due to the same cause, IPL governing council also banned the duo to participate in the last season of Indian Premier League.

However, David Warner did not take any time to unleash himself in the 12th season of the biggest cricket league. The Aussie lad opened the innings with Jonny Bairstow and together they put up a 118-run partnership for the first wicket against KKR in the 2nd match of the league.

In his brilliant comeback knock, David Warner scored 85 runs on just 53 balls with the help of three sixes and nine boundaries.

The 32-year-old batsman from the orange army hit two mesmerizing boundaries off Piyush Chawla first and then smashed two consecutive boundaries to Sunil Narine as well.

He hit an amazing six on a short ball by Andre Russell to reach his 37th half century of the IPL. With this half century, Warner surpassed Gautam Gambhir in terms of hitting maximum half-centuries in the Indian Premier League.

Twitteratis highly enjoyed watching David Warner hitting a brilliant knock on his IPL comeback. All the David Warner fans and many of the cricket legends appreciated him on Twitter for his fascinating innings.
